Anant Agarwal: Why massive open online courses still matter

Anant Agarwal: Why massive open online courses still matter MOOC is a massive open online courses acronym. MOOC can provide a learning opportunities to anyone with an internet connection. The millennial generation is different; they are comfortable in an online learning environment. Blended learning can provide an active learning environment. In a blended learning environment, a student can combine learning and retention which relates to a deeper understanding of the material. I believe that blended classrooms are critical to the future of teaching because it promotes an active learning environment. Students can learn at their rate as opposed to the speed in which the instructor teaches. With blended classrooms, you can have instant feedback. Different techniques in blended learning can help students retain the information such as gamification. Classmates can help each other learn in a blended learning environment. Finally, a blended classroom can reduce the cost of teaching by providing material to the students online thus, cutting down on the cost of textbooks.
